Bromothymol blue indicator solution is widely used as a mid-range pH indicator in the lab. It changes color from yellow in acidic conditions (pH less than 7) to blue in alkaline ones (pH greater than 7), making it useful for monitoring pH changes in titrations and other chemical reactions. At a pH of 7, bromothymol blue appears green. This is because green represents the neutral color of the indicator, while it turns yellow in acidic solutions (below pH 7) and blue in basic solutions (above pH 7).
This bromothymol blue indicator solution covers the pH range of 5.5 – 8.5 pH and comes in a 500mL bottle.
