Quickly determine the Silt Density Index (SDI)
Simple procedure which estimates the amount of paniculate contamination in water.
Why test?
This index is a way to measure particles, colloids and other things that would “clog” water purification devices. It is a simple and low cost test. The results are used for the proper choice and placement of water purification devices.
No instruments required!
The only additional items you need in order to perform this test is a stopwatch and a 500 mL graduated cylinder. These are available as Hach Product Numbers 2630200 and 108149 respectively.
